JAMYN KEATS Well the Club season has been and gone and alot of the boys are now playing rep stuff. Reading Roddy's article really illustrates how many guys our Club is producing at the higher level these days - a far cry from where we were 5-10 years ago! Great to see Zak becoming a permant All Black and watching Tys and Crotty in the Canterbury colours is added interest for all Club members. Tys spoke at the SBHS Rugby Prizegiving the other night and treated the kids to a speech they wouldn't have heard from any other pro player - very funny, exposing the real lifestyles of professional players! Me, I'm playing Metro with Hoops, Mitch and J-Ray which is a good set-up this year. Lots of fun involved and a change of scene is always good. We played a good game against the B's at rugga park to start the season, giving confidence to the squad and coaches alike. Due to 500 injuries in my position I am presently covering in the B's. I got to go down to Dunners and play for them against Southland the other day which was cool. Azza dragged me to the casino Friday night where we meet up with ex-NBC boy Brett Mather. I wasn't drinking but McCoy pigged in (must have been nerves as he was starting the next day). We curtain-raise for the shield challenge at AMI this week. I hear the NBC boys are also going well for the Canterbury Maori to. Dayne keeps ringing me to tell me about these two tries he scored in the trial and I think Hoons is skipper. Knuckes is plodding around out there to. Fonz is causing trouble at Colts level, they gave him a leadership role because he was around last year - bad mistake. Last time I saw that dude he was eating a candle. Any way catch you up at the Prizegiving. Kia Kaha, JK
