Over tha past few years the New Brighton Rugby Club has been a great developer of talent. If the 2009 Air New Zealand Cup is anything to go by, the Club's player development is working wonders. Some of the Clubs current and former players include.
Isaac Ross, All Blacks
Ryan Crotty, Canterbury
Tyson Keats, Canterbury
Aaron McCoy, Canterbury (1 game)
Phil Burleigh, Bay Of Plenty
Ben May, Waikato
Jonathan, Poff Tasman
Brett Mather, Otago
Marcel Cummings-Toone, Bay Of Plenty
We also have a couple playing professional rugby in Japan in Kieran Black and Alisi Tupuailei.
The Clubs representitive honours do not end there for this years crop. We have representatives in the Canterbury Colts team (Kieran Fonitia), three in the Canterbury Maori (Dayne Wipou, Nick McMullan and Jamie Rangihuna and appearances from Ryan Hooper). At Canterbury Metro level we have four in the side with Jarred Ward, Mitch Alcock, Jamyn Keats and Ryan Hooper all flying the flag. New Brighton is also represented at Canterbury B level with Aaron McMoy and appearances from Jamyn Keats.
Weel done to all, you have done yourselves and the Club proud.
