Senior Division 1

The New Brighton Senior Division One side has a good mix of old and new players about it this year.

Steve Crotty and John Seque will guide the ship in 2009 assisted by technical advisor Phil Holstien.

Returning to the mix are Aaron McCoy (Japan), Jamyn Keats (Ireland) and Wiremu Grey (University Club). New acquisitions include Will Anglam (lock), Clarke Butcher (lock), Evan Semour (prop), Rory Crowhen (8) and Rob Smith (10).

Pre-season form was good and leading into the start of the season the NBC boys knocked over last year’s champions Old Boys first up which shows the amount of potential within the group.

Adding to the experienced look of the side are the teams three Crusaders, Issac Ross, Tyson Keats and Ryan Crotty who we look forward to seeing soon.

A physical approach and the customary never-say-die and attitude epitomises the seasiders view towards their rugby making them a top team to watch out for. There is also no shortage of humour and antics amongst the boys and this has meant the Club has long been regarded as a welcoming place for visitors and new players alike. Kia Kaha.
