Stefan Moir 100th Game

This week we celebrate one of the stalwarts of the club - Stefan Moir - Who brings up his 100th game milestone for the Premier side this weekend, in what will be a momentous occasion for New Brighton Rugby.

After playing his junior footy at the club and schoolboy rugby at Shirley Boys, Stefan returned to the New Brighton to start his senior footy career in 2010. In his first year at Div 1/Premier level in 2013, he became a club rugby champion, playing in a talented New Brighton side who went on to win in the grand final against High School Old Boys. Stefan was then thrusted into his semi-professional career, playing a season in Ireland in 2014 and Spain in 2016.

Stefan returned to New Brighton for good in 2018 and being a part of yet another final-making side, Stefan would leave an impression on the Canterbury selectors. They would go on to select him for the Canterbury wider training squad and Canterbury B team. In the same year, he would also play in a trial series against the All Blacks and Otago in a game of 3 halves. A moment he says he will never forget.

He is now one of the last remaining players to have been involved in a champion New Brighton team, one we hope he can achieve again this season. A massive achievement and one the club is very proud of.

Congratulations Stef, on a fantastic effort to reach the exclusive 100 club, we look forward to seeing you rip up once again this Saturday.
