Brett Mather - 100th Premier Game

After a professional rugby career spanning over a decade; seeing him play his trade for Otago, the Highlanders, Canterbury and Bay of Plenty as well as several stints overseas, Brett returned to NBRFC where he added considerable experience on and off the field.

Brett has been a leader within the group for some time now and has been an imposing figure on the field. Renowned for his hard running and defensive acumen, his ability to communicate and organise the players around him has had a massive impact on the success we have enjoyed in recent seasons.

An extremely cultured individual with a fine eye for style and fashion, Mather has brought an element of class to our environment and has been instrumental in introducing some younger members of the squad into the inner realms of the Merivale nightlife scene, taking them under his wing.

Brett is a proud Brighton man and reaching a 100 division one caps is a milestone which is certainly well deserved. Make sure you take the time to slap Mather on the back to congratulate him and shout him a pina colada, should the budget allow. On ya Mather.
